Background

The Valentinos are one of Night City’s oldest and most influential street gangs, deeply rooted in the culture and communities of Heywood.

Unlike organizations built around a single business, the Valentinos operate as a complex social and criminal structure composed of multiple factions, crews, and independent members. Their internal hierarchy allows individual groups to operate with considerable autonomy while remaining bound by the traditions and laws of the organization.

At the center of Valentino culture is the Code, a collection of traditions, principles, and rules that governs loyalty, honor, punishment, and the relationship between members. The Code is considered binding even when it conflicts with personal interests or factional politics.

The gang’s structure is not limited to faction members. Lone Wolves operate outside the faction system while remaining recognized members of the Valentinos. Some lead independent crews, while others perform specialized roles or hold positions that prevent them from belonging to a faction.

Among the most feared figures within the organization are the Castigos, enforcers responsible for upholding the Code and punishing those who violate it.

By 2077, the Valentinos remained one of the dominant criminal organizations in Heywood and one of the most deeply established gangs in Night City.

Following the formation of the Cartel, selected members and factions of the Valentinos became involved in its operations while the gang itself retained its identity, internal hierarchy, territory, and traditions.

Organization

The Valentinos are divided into factions, each consisting of one or more crews. Factions may control territory, specialize in specific criminal activities, or form around particular leaders and interests.

Not every member belongs to a faction. Lone Wolves operate independently and may lead their own crews or work directly with the organization’s leadership.

The structure allows the Valentinos to maintain a unified identity while giving individual groups considerable freedom in how they conduct their affairs.

Culture

The Valentinos place significant importance on loyalty, family, reputation, tradition, and respect.

Their culture combines street criminality with strong communal and religious traditions, creating an organization where personal relationships can be as important as formal rank.

The Code remains the ultimate authority within the organization.
